French language, assessment and certifications

The DELF and DALF are diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to prove the French-language skills of non-French candidates.

There are six independent diplomas, which correspond, respectively, to the six levels of the Council of Europe' s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).

The CIEP provides additional support for teaching of and in French around the world, by identifying and setting up projects and through the provision of training that meets the needs of education practitioners. It also designs and manages a wide range of French certification schemes (diplomas and tests) and offers the Ev@lang language placement test.
